The federal government of Nigeria has approved the payment of private schools teachers affected by the Covid-19 lockdown. While responding to questions on Your View TV show, the president of the National Association of Private School Owners, Yomi Otubela confirmed that the Nigerian government has approved the request that salary of private schools be taken over by the government during the months of lockdown.
The said proposal was sent to the economic sustainability committee headed by the vice president, Professor Yemi Osibajo, and it was approved by the federal executive council.
However, there is a possibility that this palliative will only cover private schools that are registered under the umbrella of the National Association of Private Schools Owners.
